Ayurvedic wisdom, raw Ghanaian ingredients, and small-batch craft — made slowly in the Garden Route town of George.
House of Authentic Me began with a simple, unfashionable idea — that the skin already knows what it needs, and that the plants have known it for centuries too.
Our founder, Ilse, spent years searching for skincare that felt honest — no long unpronounceable lists, no promises that outran what the plants could really do. When she couldn't find it, she began making it herself — one small batch, one recipe, one leaf at a time.
What started at a kitchen counter in George is now a curated range shipped across South Africa — still handmade, still small-batch, still rooted in the same conviction.
We wanted to make products the way our grandmothers might have — with time, with care, and with ingredients you could name.
Batches are made in small quantities so nothing sits on a shelf longer than it should. From cold-pressing the oils to labelling the finished jars, everything happens by hand.
